Trifexis is a good choice for pets that are not typically exposed to tick-prone areas. It combines heartworm prevention and flea prevention in one chewable tablet. It has a larger up-front cost, but the overall cost of combining flea and heartworm prevention can save you money in the long run.

Heartgard is our most affordable heartworm preventative. It only covers heartworm disease and must be given monthly. It is the tastiest of our oral preventatives and therefore easiest to give to difficult-to-medicate pets.
